About the Author
Bobbi Salinas was born and raised in East L.A., a cultural center for the Indo-Hispanic community. She is the fourth of six children. In college, she became involved with the Chicano movement and is a founding mother of what is now MECHA. This background has been the source of strength from which she continues to draw. Bobbi is a self-taught writer, illustrator and publisher. She has published five books and was a contributing author to another one.
