Henry Francis du Pont was such a consummate artist, and the canvas was his beloved garden at Winterthur, du Pont's home from his birth in 1880 until his death in 1969. Denise Magnani is curator of landscape at Winterthur and the author of Discover Enchanted Woods, Discover the Winterthur Garden, and The Winterthur Garden. Carol Betsch has been a landscape photographer for more than 25 years. Her photographs have appeared in The Winterthur Garden, Modern Arcadia, and the forthcoming A Genius for Place.
