A practical field guide to a rich wildflower area, this book combines useful plant descriptions with truly spectacular photographs. All the wildflowers are found on Oregon's Iron Mountain in the Cascades, but the book is useful throughout the region.
About the Author
Robert A. Ross received his undergraduate training in biology at Humboldt State University and the University of Oregon. He received his master's degree in biology from the U. of O. in 1967. He moved to Albany in 1968 and became Chair of the Biology Department at LBCC, where he continues to teach a variety of biology courses a well as nature photography. Ross contributed the 182 color photographs in the book and write the chapter on the mountain's ecology. Henrietta Liaing Chambers grew up in New York state (Westchester County) and attended colleges in Tennessee (Maryville, B.A.-1955) and North Carolina (UNC-Chapel Hill, M.A.-1957). She received her doctorate in botany from Yale University in 1961 and then moved to Corvallis. She has been teaching botany and biology at LBCC since 1972. She wrote the descriptions of 278 species that are covered in the book.
