Carnations and Pinks for Garden and Greenhouse: Their True History and Complete Cultivation
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
These popular plants bred from various species of the genus Dianthus have long been garden favorites. The late John Galbally, together with his wife, Eileen, devoted more than 50 years to growing and hybridizing new cultivars, and this book represents the summation of that experience.
About the Author
John Galbally left his career as an aircraft designer in 1955 to devote himself to growing and hybridizing carnations and pinks. Together with his wife, Eileen, he was active as a commercial grower, an award-winning exhibitor, an officer of the British National Carnation Society, and a frequent contributor of articles for garden journals. Eileen Galbally collaborated in the creation of the book and, following John's death in 1994, prepared the manuscript for publication.
