About the Author
David Pingree, Ph.D.(1960) in Classics and Sanskrit, Harvard University, is Professor of the History of Mathematics at Brown University. He has catalogued Sanskrit manuscripts in numerous libraries throughout the world, and is the Chair, American Committee for South Asian Manuscripts.
