Each chapter contains tips for a specific room in the house, with additional chapters for the basement, garage, and yard. There is also a chapter for the "Room In Your Heart" with additional ways to show love for children plus parent communication suggestions. There is a chapter designed specifically for providers who participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Each chapter also includes a "Just for Your" tip, a way for providers to take care of themselves or take a mini-break while the children are still there.
About the Author
Tina Koch is a child care consultant and a teacher-trainer on staff at the Day Care Connection, a nonprofit child care referral service and CACFP sponsor in Lenexa, Kansas. She provides home training and workshops for the Day Care Connection and other agencies across the country. A child care provider for ten years, her Certificate of Accreditation from the National Association for Family Child Care is among the "first one hundred" issued in the nation. She has also served as a center director, preschool teacher, and Head Start aide and continues to teach child care classes at Johnson County Community College.
Mary-Lane Kamberg is an award winning professional writer in Olathe, Kansas. Her books include Testing Program For Developing Child (Glencoe/Macmillan, 1994) and From Patient to Payment (Glencoe/Macmillan, 1993). Mary-lane has written hundreds of articles about child care, parenting, health, education, and business. She teaches writing workshops for the Kansas City Writers Group and Johnson County Community College.
