Book Description
In Children, David Archard challenges the idea that childhood is a period of little reason and limited freedom. He surveys arguments for and against the rights of children, and explores the role that should be played in the rearing of children both by the government and by their own parents. Archard contests the idea that natural parents have obvious rights over their own children, and reaches a definitive position on the rights children should have and the ways in which they should be protected.
