About the Author
What a life! Dad was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1923. Elmwood was home until 1935 when the family moved to Burchard, Nebraska. The 6'4" right-hander pitched 3 of 4 games to make Burchard the Class ‘C' State Champion in 1941, his senior year. A degree in music from the University of Nebraska began a career in broadcasting, entertainment, and selling.
Rosemarie and Russ (Mom & Dad) were married in 1947 and moved to Omaha the same year with plans to start a family. 59 years later their family has expanded to 7 sons, 1 daughter, 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
During all these years Dad enjoyed writing poetry and musical lyrics, and it has remained a special hobby for him that he truly loves.
