Remember, it all began with a choice. Choices are the hinges on which our heritage swings. We can choose to perpetuate the good handed to us, or reject the good and replace it with bad choices. We can choose to perpetuate the bad, or lay it aside and replace it with good choices. I was sent to this generation as a messenger from a man who was illegitimate, uneducated, and signed his name with an X. This man probably suffered many of the things in life that you have suffered. But he chose to create for me a legacy of love and freedom, and I am choosing to create one with my husband, J. Otis. This is my story.
